Your Fight is Our Fight

HIV/AIDS Services | One Day at a Time

Support groups are facilitated by volunteers, student interns, and/or staff who are supervised by human services administrators. We hold biweekly meetings on Tuesday mornings from 10:00 am – 11:00 am for HIV/AIDS clients, their family members, and loved ones. In a confidential and supportive environment, the attendees can discuss the daily challenges of living with HIV & AIDS.

ODAAT groups are tailored to create a safe and comfortable environment for people of many backgrounds. If a client is interested in attending a support group initial contact is made with case managent.

TESTING SERVICES

HIV testing provides the most accurate means of determining a person’s HIV status. Early diagnosis of HIV infection with referral to medical care and supportive services assures an individual of the best possible outcome. Client-centered HIV counseling and testing helps the client identify and assess their personal risk behavior(s), develop a risk reduction plan, and have the opportunity to be tested for HIV infection.

CASE MANAGEMENT

HIV/AIDS case management services are client-centered activities. The goals of this intervention are optimal retention in care, compliance with medical and service specifications, and risk behavior reduction. These activities are conducted by qualified case managers who assess the client’s physical, psychosocial, environmental, and financial needs and facilitate the client’s access to, maintenance of, and adherence to, primary health care, support services, and HIV prevention and risk reduction services.

FOOD BANK

Our referral-based food bank is available for Ryan White Clients to request food distribution every Tuesday at our Corporate location (2532 N. Broad St.). The referral/request must be sent from a case manager via fax. Once accepted, an ID and Ryan White card are required to be served.

The distribution includes a minimum of one week’s worth of groceries.

PRE-EXPOSURE PROPHYLAXIS (PrEP)

PrEP is a way for people who do not have HIV, but who are at very high risk of exposure to HIV, to prevent the HIV infection by taking a pill every day. When taken daily and appropriately, PrEP is highly effective for preventing HIV.
