One Day at a Time, ODAAT

Reverend Henry T. Wells & Margaret “Mom” Wells, Founders | Mel Wells, President

Founded in 1983 by Reverend Henry T. Wells, One Day at a Time Recovery (ODAAT) began as a residential peer counseling and substance abuse recovery support program.

For over 40 years, ODAAT has served thousands of residential clients annually at its facilities by supplying recovery, addiction, and homeless shelter services. ODAAT connects with thousands of people annually, providing HIV/AIDS prevention education and care outreach programs, and boasts an alumni community of over 10,000 graduates and their families. With its program partner, HOPE Worldwide, ODAAT supports a global health outreach initiative. As a result, their programs have been replicated worldwide with locations in England, India, Indonesia, and Cambodia.

One Day at a Time (ODAAT) offers drug and alcohol services to individuals seeking shelter and support in their recovery efforts by utilizing a community-based recovery model and support system and allowing people to recover in the same environment in which they became addicted.

While residing in one of the many recovery houses, individuals are eligible to receive a menu of services via ODAAT’s many programs which can include, but are not limited to: Adult Mentoring, Case Management, Community Events, HIV/AIDS Testing, HIV/AIDS Support, Homeless Outreach, Homeless Shelter, Job Readiness, Re-entry Support, Same Day Pay, Substance Recovery, Violence Prevention, Youth Mentoring, and more.
